General InfoThis will be a time trial type event along the Pinhoti Trail through National Forest Lands. To participate, a current SORBA Membership is required. NWGA SORBA volunteers will man the event course providing shuttles and sag support. We will be asking for a one-time donation of $30 for your first ride In return for your donation you will receive a quality tee shirt, sags, shuttle & an official time. For each additional attempt at bettering your time, we will ask for an additional $10 donation to help cover the sags, shuttle & and timing.
DatesThe next scheduled time trial is May the 7th. This is the last SCG Gap 6 Mountain Time Trial for 2005, so be sure to participate. The weather should be a lot warmer than the previous events.
RegistrationRegistration will take Place from 7:30 to 8:15 am in Dalton at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center gravel parking lot. Maps will be provided and riders will be shuttled to the starting point.
CourseThere is a 16 mile event, and if your tough enough you can continue on to do the 32 miler. Each are truly epics, the 32-mile distance is quite an epic to complete. Over 90% of it is on single-track trails. These will not be your normal 16 or 32-mile epic rides. They both will require extreme physical condition, so please use good judgment if you decide to ride!
Age GroupsIn an effort to make this interesting we will have several different categories <30 /<40 /<50 and 50 and over. We also will have 1 Clydesdale class and two female classes <30 and 30 and over. After the last race in May, we will do a pay back to the person in each category with the best time of 25% of the money raised through donations in each category. We will also recognize the top Female & Male overall riders as the 2005 SORBA GPT SCG 6 Mountain Champions.
DirectionsI-75 to exit 333 Walnut Avenue go west up the mountain approx 1/4 mile turn left into the Trade Center, the gravel parking lot is on your right at the Trade Center.
