| The Northwest Georgia chapter of SORBA has developed a race team. Our
chapter was formed to promote off-road cycling opportunities in the
Northwest region of Georgia, which includes the competitive side of our
sport, racing. NWGA SORBA is open to all cyclists with an interest in
mountain biking. We are dedicated to improving the competitive side of
cycling through our team development. Whether you are an accomplished
expert level racer, or simply a recreational rider looking to take the next
step, we have a place for you on our race team.
For 2005 we have assembled an incredible race team, a team filled with diversity. The current team roster consists of beginner level, sport level, expert level and our 12 & 24-hour endurance athletes. Our diversity does not take away the fact, "we are a united team" and we support each of our teammates goals and ambitions. Our race team will compete in races throughout the southeast including the GAP series races (GA), TBRA series races (TN), AMBC series, SERC series, and epic events including, The Bakers Dozen (SC), 12-hours of Tsali (NC), Big Bear (WV), Shenandoah 100 (100-mile mountain bike event, VA), 24-hours of Pisgah (NC) and 24-hours of Conyers (GA). This is the first year of what will be an annual event. The Georgia Pinhoti Trail system offers quite possibly, some of the best mountain biking in the southeast. This trail system is simply, nature's masterpiece.We offer two options for the Snake Creek Gap time trial event. You have a choice, 16 or 32 miles. Now you might say, "only 16-miles?" This is not just any 16-mile course; remember you're on the Georgia Pinhoti. For those looking for a truly epic ride, we have the 32-miler. Both rides offer spectacular views, gnarly technical rock beds, and a ride you'll never forget. For those completing the 32-mile course, congratulations at quite an accomplishment.
