Pinhoti ride series
« on: February 23, 2010, 04:26:26 PM »

Ok boys and girls. What do ya'll think of a one Sunday a month Pinhoti ride with the goal of riding all the off road portion open to mountian bikes.  We would do it point to point with shuttles, no out and back.  I was thinking of posting this on SORBA main.  We could use some of our trailer rigs if we had enough repsonse.  I was also thinking we could ride some of the stuff that is going to become Pinhoti that isn't quite ready.  Start at Huffaker on the Simms Mt trail and work north.  We could start it in April.  probably be done by September.

A lot of readers, no thoughts?  Maybe we kick this off at the Pinhoti Festival at Mullberry with the rides over there.  We could wheel some trailers in and do a point ot point form the top of Bear Creek to Mullberry Gap.  We could go a little farthe over and pick up the down and back to Jack's River and the intestectoin of the Bento MacKaye.  Very few riders have done that section.  It is worth doing.  WE could also do a point to pooint form Mullberry over the top and out to Dennis showing off the new proposed sectin of the Pinhoiti.

Moon Dog,

Assumming I can get my fat butt in some kind of shape by April I would be in for some of it at least.  I did a lap at Pilcher's last Saturday and Sunday, very nice days but the trail kicked my butt, I hope to give it a try again this weekend.

I'm definitely in! Also, want people to remember that NWGA Sorba is trying to provide Mulberry Gap with some volunteer help at the festival. Mulberry Gap is a jewel-let's help to keep it there. Please try to give a few volunteer hours during the festival. Doesn't mean you won't have a great time, you'll still be able to ride, eat, drink and be merry!
