In 2005, the Snake Time Trial series started on Dug Gap Mountain. The finish line for the 16Mile route was at Snake Creek Gap and the finish line for 32Mile route was at the Pinhoti Trailhead
on East Armuchee Road.
In 2006, the race direction, start and finish lines were changed. This added 2 miles to the original 32 mile route and added 1 mile to the original 16 mile route. The start for 34 Mile Route is now at Dry Creek Parking lot and the start for the 17 Mile Route is now at Snake Creek Gap. The finish line is at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center. Also, in 2006 a category was added for Men Over 60 (17Mile).
In 2007, categories of SingleSpeed (17Mile) and SingleSpeed(34Mile) have been added.
